Job Summary
Provide telephone screening for youth seeking crisis services, obtaining demographic and clinical information while documenting accurately in the CMHC electronic health record. Determine client eligibility, verify insurance coverage, and assess emergency risk using written clinical criteria and protocols. Consult with team members regarding specific clinical situations and route callers for follow-up or transitions. Schedule and reschedule initial appointments, provide community resource information, and maintain monthly report data on calls, appointments, and referrals. Adhere to departmental standards for routine appointments and complete annual trainings, team meetings, and quality assurance training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Human Behavior Sciences or related field of study
- 1 year full-time experience working with individuals who receive services for treatment of a mental health, substance abuse, intellectual disability, or physical health condition
- Minimum of one year experience in social services with child and family focused social services experience
- Crisis counseling experience
- Proficiency in word processing/data entry skills, general computer knowledge and associated skills
- Highly effective listening, retention, communication and relay of essential information skills in a supportive, responsive, client and service focused environment
- COVID and Influenza vaccinations
