Job Summary
Assist the Lead Caregiver in planning and carrying out classroom activities; supervise groups of children indoors and outdoors; provide individual attention and positive guidance; develop age-appropriate activities aligned with development milestones; observe and report on child growth; maintain room and equipment; communicate with parents via daily charts and annual conferences; ensure compliance with Texas DFPS standards and Plano ISD policies; perform emergency evacuation procedures and hygienic care; maintain confidentiality of information; assist with housekeeping tasks related to program activities; follow directives from supervisors; no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Acquire and maintain current CPR and first aid certificates
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Attend 24 hours of pre-service training within 90 days for new employees in licensed centers (less than 2 years’ experience)
- Knowledge of Texas child care guidelines and state licensing for child care facilities
- Experience in child care-related fields (preferred)
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Follow DFPS and Academy of Early Childhood Programs standards
