Job Summary
Before School Program Youth Development Professional (YDP) to supervise and promote activities for children and youth in areas such as academic success, arts, life and workforce readiness, and physical education. Responsible for program development and implementation, ensuring safety and appropriate discipline, and providing positive role modeling. Delivers age-appropriate, engaging activities aligned with Boys & Girls Clubs philosophy; communicates with staff, supervisors, and families; may drive the Club van and participate in trainings. Must be at least 18, pass background checks/fingerprinting, and have or obtain CPR/First Aid certification. This role requires strong youth-development knowledge, ability to relate to children, de-escalate behaviors, and maintain a safe, supportive environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children
- Knowledge of youth development
- Ability to relate well with children, motivate youth and manage behaviors
- Ability to interact with the public (both verbal and written)
- Ability to implement quality programs for youth
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and mobile when supervising children in a group setting
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Valid Driver’s License with little or no violations, preferred
- Pass background check and complete fingerprinting
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- CPR/First Aid Certification (training provided as needed)
