Child Care Worker (Out of Placement Care)

Job Summary
Provide daily care, guidance, support, and direct supervision for youth residing in a staffed resource unit, ensuring a physically safe and emotionally nurturing environment. Prepare meals, organize activities, and assist with activities of daily living while following all relevant legislation and Agency policies. Keep records of progress, routines, and interests, and provide transportation as needed. Utilize trauma-informed approaches to promote healing, skill development, and positive life outcomes for youth with trauma, mental health challenges, behavioral difficulties, or addictions. Full-time position with a competitive employer-paid benefits package including extended health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, OMERS pension, four weeks of vacation to start, and a $3.00 per hour PSW salary premium.
Required Qualifications
- Child & Youth Care Worker Diploma, SSW, or related education
- 1-2 years of experience working with vulnerable youth living in out of home placements
- Experience supporting youth with trauma, mental health, behavioural, or addiction related challenges
- Must be medically fit to work in a staffed home setting with proof of immunizations as per Canadian Immunization Guide
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
- Must have access to a vehicle with an OPCF6A Insurance endorsement and minimum of $1,000,000 Liability
- Satisfactory Broad Record Check
- Internal Records Check
- Drivers Abstract
Desired Qualifications
- Child & Youth Care Worker Diploma, SSW, or related education
- First Aid/CPR, CPI, ASIST, SOGIE training
