Job Summary
Child Care Worker at Kelloggsville Public Schools – provide high quality childcare that meets the individual and group needs of children in the program; assist with personal care, grooming and medical needs; relate well to young children and families; maintain good attendance and punctuality; promote cultural competence and equitable treatment; First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain; bilingual preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required; experience with children and ability to work in a diverse environment; flexible hours; compensation per Auxiliary Services Agreement.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bilingual preferred
- Flexibility with scheduled hours
- Child Development Accreditation certificate or equivalent preferred
- Experience working with or caring for children
- First Aid/CPR certified or willingness to obtain
- Ability to relate to young children in positive and constructive ways
- Ability to assist with personal care, grooming and medical needs of students
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community
- Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others
- Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District
- Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage
