Job Summary
Supervise children at all times to maintain a secure, safe environment for play and learning while creating and implementing lesson plans. Prepare daily reports for each child, complete necessary classroom records, and train assistants on policies and regulations. Change diapers and toilet train children as needed, ensuring dismissal procedures are followed with authorized adults. Adhere to DFPS proceedings and Catholic school policies, including attending staff meetings and ongoing training. Communicate effectively with parents and students, maintain confidentiality, and ensure CPR/First Aid certification is available daily. Work some nights and weekends in a high-stress environment, lifting supplies and adapting to a fast-paced setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old
- One (1) year of experience in a childcare setting
- Excellent communication skills
- Be a team player
- Have reliable transportation
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening
- Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening
- Required to work some nights and weekends
- Required to manage high to moderate levels of stress
- Required to work in standard school conditions
- Required to lift or carry supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment
- Required to maintain composure and avoid inappropriate displays of anger
- Required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak on a daily basis
- Required to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
- Required to monitor students in a variety of locations including those with noise, activity, and inclement
- Be an educator
- Be able to adapt to continuously changing, fast-paced environment and make the children's needs the primary focus
Desired Qualifications
- CDA credential preferred
