Job Summary
Create and implement classroom curriculum aligned with the UWMC-Northwest Childcare Center philosophy and oversee staff and volunteers working with children. Manage classroom organization, maintenance, and cleanup; attend to daily needs including meal preparation, feeding, diaper changing, and toilet training. Implement individual behavioral plans, observe and document learning, maintain daily records (attendance, meals, sleep, accidents, medications), and provide input for parent conferences. Prepare for required trainings including STARS. Emphasis on fostering resilience, self-regulation and intrinsic motivation within a Reggio Emilia-inspired, child-centered environment where the child’s point of view is respected. Develop and monitor a supportive, collaborative environment for children, families, and staff while contributing to program quality and development.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Associate OR Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
