Job Summary
Design and follow a full schedule of activities using stories, media, games, and drawing to enhance children's abilities while balancing logical and social exercises. Provide basic care, supervise children constantly in the classroom, playground, and during field trips or parties, and support their emotional wellbeing. Identify behavioral problems, report injuries to the Center Director, and maintain constant communication with parents to update them on progress. Collaborate with colleagues, adhere to teaching standards and safety regulations, keep the classroom clean, and attend staff meetings or training to gain knowledge in Early Childhood Development. Maintain confidentiality for clients, employees, and the agency.
Required Qualifications
- BS or AA in Early Childhood Development
- Child Development Associate (CDA)
- Certificate of Mastery (CoM)
- Certified Childcare Professional (CCP)
- willingness to obtain CDA/CoM/CCP within 18 months of hire
- At least one year of experience as classroom teacher in child care setting
- Excellent knowledge of child development
