Job Summary
Provide care for children in assigned groups, stressing individual needs within the developmental framework of social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. Assist in creating an environment conducive to a child's continuing growth and help develop feelings of confidence through successful encounters with adults, peers, and the physical environment. Adhere to developmentally appropriate practice while assisting in planning for designated classrooms. Work Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., maintaining a current Level 2 AHCA background clearance. Requires a High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate, along with either a National Early Childhood Certificate, Florida Child Care Professional Credential, or Director Credentials with five years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- DCF Introductory forty (40)-clock-hour Child Care Training comprised of Part I and Part II courses and five (5)-clock-hour (or .5 Continuing Education Units) Early Literacy and Language Development
- National Early Childhood Certificate (NECC)
- Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC)
- Director Credentials with five years of experience working with young children
- Enrollment in NECC/FCCPC with completion in twelve (12) months and five (5) years of experience working with young children
- two (2) years of experience working with children in a classroom setting
- current Level 2 AHCA background clearance
- High School Diploma, GED or Certificate

- demonstrated patience, enthusiasm and respect for children
- demonstrated working knowledge of early childhood development
- demonstrated ability to use correct grammar and spelling in writing parent notes, incident reports and communication boards
- demonstrated flexibility in working with different age groups of children
