Job Summary
Create hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Maintain open communication with parents by sharing their child's daily milestones. Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines. Frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds, occasionally handling heavier loads. Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies while maintaining mental and physical alertness. Work in person at the Los Angeles center to provide supervision, care, and curriculum delivery per Bright Horizons policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED
- Twelve units in Child Development, including the core courses of Growth & Development, Child, Family & Community, Curriculum, and Principles and Practices
- State and company background checks
- State and company minimum education and experience requirements
- Immunizations
- Employment physical/screening
- Health and safety training
- Full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and otherwise fully participate in activities
- Ability to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
- Mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, or hold children with a range of weight from 10 to 40 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or hold weight more than 40 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- AA/BA in Early Childhood Education
- 12 months of professional teaching experience
