Job Summary
Maintain access control over designated entry points and manage visitor access while conducting interior and exterior patrols. Utilize video surveillance systems to monitor premises and detect illicit activity such as loitering, trespassing, and transient behavior. Respond to security, facilities, and medical emergencies, and assist clients, business visitors, and guests as needed. Perform visits and respond to other Centers in the vicinity to ensure consistent safety standards. This unarmed position requires full-time availability Monday through Friday, with specific morning or afternoon shifts at Ballard Blocks, West Seattle, or Lower Queen Anne.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of security officer experience operating in a full time capacity, which may include military or law enforcement service
- Prior de-escalation training
- First Aid / CPR / AED certifications
- Personal transportation
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Must be proficient in MS Office
- Experience conducting security duties in a school or childcare setting
- Experience utilizing surveillance cameras and access control programs
- State security license / certification
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree in criminal justice or related discipline
- Experience working in a fast paced environment and ability to deal with shifting priorities
