Job Summary
Inspect child care facilities to ensure licensing compliance and certification criteria; monitor facilities for differential quality rates and special needs rate; conduct complaint investigations; identify and investigate unlicensed facilities; provide training for caregivers; manage a caseload across local counties and surrounding areas; travel in a state-owned vehicle or mileage reimbursement; required on-site presence Mon-Fri 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; preferences for bilingual Spanish/English speakers.
Required Qualifications
- Level I: Bachelor’s Degree in any field is required
- Level II: Master’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or social work OR a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development and social work, and one year of professional level experience in child care licensing, early childhood education, social work, or in a licensed childcare or formal early childhood setting
- Level II: or a bachelor’s degree in any field plus two years of professional experience in child care licensing, early childhood education, social work, or in a licensed childcare or formal early childhood setting
