Job Summary
Early Childhood Educator, Supply (part-time, one year contract) at YMCA of Southwestern Ontario in Windsor. Plan and deliver a consistent child-centered program in accordance with the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum for ages 0-6, providing quality compassionate care and support to children and families. Ensure supervision and safety of children at all times; understand and comply with provincial (CCEYA) and YMCA policies. Commit to diversity, equity, inclusion, and the YMCA core values (Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility). Embrace a collaborative, team-based environment and participate in ongoing training and development. Schedule is Monday through Friday with a minimum of two shifts per week (eight shifts per month), shifts ranging from 3 to 7.5 hours between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, with availability submitted in advance. This role requires a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check, immunizations as required, First Aid/CPR Level C certification, and legal eligibility to work in Canada. Compensation ranges updated with government wage enhancements: up to CAD 22.00/hour for Members of the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario, and up to CAD 26.00/hour for non-members, plus benefits and vacation entitlement. Required Qualifications
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
- Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check (current or scheduled within next 6 months)
- Immunizations required as per Public Health requirements
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Minimum age 18 years
- Experience working with children 0-12 years is an asset
- Plans to enroll or holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education is an asset
- ECE graduates must be registered in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) or in process
- Graduates in related fields must be members of required associations
- Able to lift up to 44 lbs (20 kg) and perform physical tasks as part of role
- Shifts Monday through Friday; flexible times; no weekends
- Annual wage enhancements included in pay (for eligible employees)
