Job Summary
Oversee daily operations for six Before and After School Enrichment programs, four summer recreation programs, and Batavia Summer Recreation, ensuring compliance with state, local, and federal health and safety regulations. Recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of 30 to 45 part-time employees while developing strategies to improve staff retention and performance. Direct curriculum delivery, monitor site visits, and lead registration processes across Genesee County, including 30% travel for inspections and supply delivery. Manage all program budgets, collect fees, track grant funding, and handle marketing, social media, and community partnership development. Serve as a substitute for staff shortages and complete required annual training and emergency response protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university
- 18 credits in child development/education/or recreation
- NYS Children's Program Administrator credential OR School Age Child Care Credential and Associates degree
- At least 21 years old
- Valid driver's license
- 1-2 years of related experience as a Supervisor of Child Care Programs
- Must assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work
- Goal oriented

- Excellent organizational & planning skills
- Computer aptitude and/or proficiency
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

- Experience in, or ability to relate to diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or become certified within 30 days of hire
- Complete the following online trainings upon hire: Y-USA Before & After School Program, Child Abuse Prevention, Sexual Harassment, New Employee Orientation
- OCFS Health & Safety Director Training within 60 days of hire
- 30% travel (in Genesee County) to local child care sites for inspections, supply delivery, supervision, training and oversight
- Available on-call during program hours (6:30am-9:00am and 2:00pm-6:00pm during school year, 7am-6:00pm during summer)
- Opportunity to flex work week to accommodate on-call needs
- Serves as an active member of the branch leadership team
