Child Care Center Director

Job Summary

Lead daily operations of a licensed early childhood center serving infants through preschool-aged children while maintaining compliance with Colorado childcare licensing regulations and organizational standards. Recruit, hire, onboard, and coach high-performing teachers; conduct classroom observations, performance evaluations, and professional development to build a collaborative school culture. Drive enrollment growth by leading center tours, managing family retention efforts, and ensuring engaging implementation of the L.E.A.P.® Curriculum. Monitor staffing, scheduling, and labor priorities while maintaining accurate records for reporting and documentation. Full-time role with a salary of $70,000–$80,000 annually.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, daycare, or early childhood education program
  • Must meet Colorado Large Child Care Center Director qualification requirements and applicable Colorado PDIS requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of Colorado childcare licensing regulations and compliance expectations
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Comfortable using technology and data to manage operations and measure performance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other technology platforms used for enrollment, staffing, reporting, communication, and daily operations

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Previous experience as a Center Director, School Director, Preschool Director, or senior Assistant Director in a large licensed childcare program
  • Experience leading a growing center and building enrollment
  • Experience with accreditation or other early childhood quality-improvement programs
  • Demonstrated success improving employee retention, family satisfaction, enrollment, and program quality
