Job Summary
Serve balanced, family-style meals and snacks prepared by the MERCK catering company while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen. Follow food safety, allergy-management, sanitation, and health procedures to support smooth daily meal service for children, educators, and staff. Work 8am to 3pm in the Bright Horizons center located on the Merck campus in North Wales, PA.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- high school diploma or GED
- pass required state and company background checks
- meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
- Have or obtain a food handler certification within 30 days of hire
- comply with all applicable federal, state, local, Bright Horizons', and client site requirements concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training
- work in person in an early education/preschool child care center
- lift and carry food and supplies (typically 10 to 40 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds)
- stand for extended periods
- bend, reaching, pushing carts, and performing repetitive kitchen and cleaning tasks
- maintain mental and physical alertness and be able to respond immediately and appropriately to unexpected situations or emergencies
Desired Qualifications
- Course work in Nutrition
- ServSafe certification
- Food service experience in a childcare center, school cafeteria, commercial kitchen, or high‐volume food service setting
