Job Summary
Conduct daily supervision and care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers while delivering curriculum and facilitating hands-on activities. Maintain open communication with parents by sharing daily milestones and ensure a safe, clean classroom by following essential procedures. Respond immediately to unexpected situations or emergencies and comply with all health, safety, and physical requirements including lifting children weighing up to 40 pounds. This full-time or part-time role is onsite at the Technology Children's Center in Cambridge, MA, with a competitive hourly rate of $19.60 to $22.40. Candidates must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED and one year of childcare experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Pass required state and company background checks
- Meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
- In-person work in the Cambridge, MA area
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, Bright Horizons', and client site requirements concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training
- Frequently lift, carry, or hold children with a range of weight from 10 to 40 pounds
- Occasionally lift, carry, or hold weight more than 40 pounds
- Demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and otherwise fully participate in activities
- Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
- Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings
- CDA, Associate, or bachelor's degree in early education or related field
