Job Summary
Child Care Assistant provides support in meal prep, sanitation, and classroom assistance; assists with child check-in/check-out, maintains records, supports teachers with supervision and safety, and helps prepare playground and classroom spaces. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, background check, and safety/health certifications; part-time role (25 hours/week) with duties across kitchen, sanitation, and child care activities; includes ongoing professional development and adherence to Head Start/Child Care regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Safe driving record
- Acceptance by the Agency’s vehicle insurance carrier
- Pass TDFPS background check
- Pass a Pre-employment physical
- Previous childcare experience (preferred)
- Annual Health and CPR / First Aid / Food Handlers certifications (or ability to obtain)
- Safety and active supervision training
- Documentation and recordkeeping experience
