Job Summary
Support the S.A.C.C. Director to ensure a safe, secure learning environment for school-age children through crafts, games, stories, and event planning. Monitor children on the playground, communicate with community members and staff, and answer questions while maintaining confidentiality. Assist with lunchtime activities and engage students, including those with special needs. Requires CPR/First Aid training, knowledge of school safety policies, and the ability to read and interpret school handbooks. Must be caring, understanding, and friendly toward students.
Required Qualifications
- 16 years or older
- Knowledge of school policies and safety regulations
- Good communication skills
- Ability to be caring, understanding, and friendly towards students
- Ability to relate to children with special needs
- Ability to read and interpret school policies and handbook
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and community
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen and small numbers
- Occasional ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds of files, materials, computer and audio visual equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children's groups and/or training in early childhood development or childcare
