Job Summary
Conduct crafts, games, and storytelling while monitoring children on the playground and assisting in planning daily events. Support the S.A.C.C. Director to ensure a safe, secure learning environment for school-age children, maintaining confidentiality and communicating with community, staff, and students. Read and interpret school policies, respond to emergency situations, and interact effectively with English-speaking students, staff, and the community.
Required Qualifications
- 16 years or older
- Knowledge of school policies and safety regulations
- Good communication skills
- Ability to be caring, understanding, and friendly towards students
- Ability to relate to children with special needs
- Ability to read and interpret school policies and handbook
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and community
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen and small numbers
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds of files, materials, computer and audio visual equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children's groups and/or training in early childhood development or childcare
