Job Summary
Monitor children in small or large groups to ensure their safety and follow procedures to safeguard their health. Assist the director in planning various activities, organizing materials, and promoting positive parent and child interactions. Participate in staff activities and special training programs while applying safety procedures and regulations. Maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and staff members through oral and written communication. Perform related duties as assigned, including basic record-keeping and learning child guidance principles.
Required Qualifications
- State and national criminal history background check
- Child abuse/neglect (CAN) check
- High school diploma
- GED certificate
- Demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED
- Experience working with children in an organized setting
