Child Behavioral Interventionist - Part-Time

Job Summary

Conduct behavioral observations, developmental screenings, and implement evidence-based interventions for infants, toddlers, and young children impacted by adverse experiences. Develop individualized behavioral strategies under clinical supervision, model effective parenting techniques, and coach caregivers using strength-based approaches. Assist parents in implementing behavior strategies outside structured sessions while collaborating with classroom staff and multidisciplinary teams including counselors and therapists. Monitor child progress, adjust interventions, and collect data under the direction of the Director of Children's Clinical Services. Participate in treatment team meetings and assist in obtaining and maintaining certifications such as Rising Star.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Two to three years of related experience
  • Registered Child Behavioral Interventionist (CBI)
  • Experience in early childhood settings
  • Experience working with families impacted by trauma
  • Ability to offer services with a trauma-responsive approach
  • Sensitivity and ability to work with people of various races, cultures, socioeconomic levels and sexual orientations
  • Ability to handle crisis situations and demonstrate skills of de-escalation and conflict resolution
  • Ability to use strengths-based interventions
  • Ability to develop trusting relationships with children
  • Ability to respond calmly during behavioral crises
  • Ability to occasionally stand
  • Ability to occasionally walk
  • Ability to navigate stairs
  • Ability to sit
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to climb or balance
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to talk or hear
  • Ability to taste or smell
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Close vision
  • Distance vision

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Registered Child Behavioral Interventionist (CBI) preferred
  • Experience in early childhood settings and experience working with families impacted by trauma preferred
