Job Summary

Shadow Child and Family Services Specialists to gain hands-on experience supporting vulnerable populations through advocacy, family-centered case management, and adherence to Structured Decision Making. Implement evidence-based practices that promote normalcy and safety while identifying and making appropriate referrals for formal and informal interventions. Write clear, concise, and descriptive reports in a timely manner for legal entities and the court system. Interns will learn to respect individuality, culture, and family inclusion in decision-making processes. This internship is designed for currently enrolled college or university students to complete coursework, with onsite locations across Nebraska including Omaha, Lincoln, and Scottsbluff.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university (two-to-four-year institution)
  • Recently graduated (within one year) from an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university (two-to-four-year institution)

Desired Qualifications

  • Coursework in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human services, mental healthcare, criminal justice, education, or any other closely related field
