Job Summary
Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist on the Clinical Educator track at OU Health, 90% clinical effort with 10% administration, education and research. Faculty appointment through the University of Oklahoma, joining the Child Section of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Oklahoma Children's Hospital. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, diagnosing and managing psychiatric conditions, developing and leading treatment plans with individual, group, expressive and family therapies, determining level of care and hospitalization needs, educating families, coordinating with OU Health providers and external partners, supervising residents and fellows, timely documentation, and participating in scholarly activities and quality-improvement initiatives. Requires medical degree, Oklahoma medical license, board certification in general psychiatry, accredited child fellowship, and board eligibility in Child Psychiatry; minimum 2 years of experience including training; strong interpersonal, teaching, analytic and research skills; ability to lead interdisciplinary teams in a high-pressure environment.
Required Qualifications
- A Medical degree and Oklahoma Medical License
- Board certification in general psychiatry
- Successful completion of an accredited child fellowship program
- Board eligible in Child Psychiatry
- Knowledge of and experience managing complex clinical cases
- Ability to work under intense pressure and respond to difficult questions
- Ability to work with and lead an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal and team membership skills
- Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills
- Excellent teaching, analytic and scholarship skills
- Experience in program development is desirable
- 2 years of experience, including training, required
- Licensed as a psychiatrist in the State of Oklahoma
