Job Summary
Chief Steward leading the stewarding team in a luxury resort kitchen. Direct supervision of all stewarding staff and supervisors, training, scheduling, and managing daily duties and long-term projects. Ensure cleanliness and maintenance to Fairmont standards; manage par stocks for china, silver, and glass; report and follow up on equipment issues; conduct inventories; participate in recruitment, orientation, and training of new employees; uphold the Fairmont brand promise and an inclusive work environment. This role operates under the Executive Chef with responsibilities that support safe, efficient operations and exceptional cuisine in a brand-new culinary environment at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years proven leadership and supervisory skills in a Food and Beverage operation
- Thorough knowledge of a large Stewarding Department
- Must be computer strong with a knowledge of Excel, word, electronic mail
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management a definite asset
- Must be results oriented, very organized, highly motivated and able to work under pressure
- Must be committed to and have a full understanding of the health and safety practices in the workplace
- Must be certified in WHMIS
