Job Summary
Own commercial strategy for both Paygate and London & Zurich brands, assessing performance against growth plans and resetting direction where needed. Drive execution of growth strategy with full accountability for total revenue, base-to-base sales, and pricing, while leading two distinct sales motions: renewal-timed competitor displacement and inbound/partnering. Direct the marketing function, including brand positioning and demand generation, and lead commercial negotiations on partnering agreements. Work with CPO, CTO, COO, and Head of Compliance to align product roadmaps, ensure operational delivery, and maintain regulatory adherence. Manage a team of approximately seven across sales, marketing, and business development. This role reports to the Managing Director within the UK payments market, with expectations for in-person attendance at all-company and group events alongside client travel.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating in a regulated industry and managing sales teams within that constraint
- Experience with the FCA
- Proven track record of setting and evolving commercial strategy
- Track record managing more than one sales motion concurrently, with different metrics and cadences for each
- Experience executing and shaping commercial strategy over a sustained period
- Demonstrable commercial success in a sales leadership role
- Strong people management track record
- Able to read and negotiate complex commercial contracts personally
- Collaborative operating style, particularly with product, operations and compliance functions
- Direct Debit or Bacs domain knowledge
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with the FCA is ideal, not necessarily payments-specific
- Direct Debit or Bacs domain knowledge would be an advantage, but is not essential
