Job Summary
Chief Program Officer (CPO) leads strategic direction, execution, and overall management of all programs and services for Homeless Children’s Network. Oversees clinical programming, provides guidance to Clinical Supervisors and Program Directors, ensures quality of care, and aligns programs with the organization’s mission. Responsible for end-to-end program goals, delivering weekly data-driven reports to the CEO, developing new programs to meet community needs, overseeing budgeting and resource allocation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture. Builds and maintains relationships with funders, community partners, and government agencies; supports grant writing and fundraising efforts; measures program outcomes and impact; and reports to the CEO and board on progress and outcomes. Requires master’s-level education, extensive program-management experience, senior leadership background, strong leadership, analytical, communication, problem-solving, and cultural-competence skills. The role emphasizes equity, inclusion, and responsiveness to race, ethnicity, culture, language, region, poverty, and systemic oppressions as core considerations in program design and impact.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Leadership skills: proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams, develop strategic initiatives, and execute complex projects
- Analytical skills: strong ability to evaluate program effectiveness, interpret data, and make informed decisions
- Communication skills: excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- Problem-solving skills: creative and strategic thinker with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges
- Cultural competence: demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and a commitment to equity and inclusion
