Job Summary
Lead the establishment and management of the new scrap yard facility, overseeing site development, permitting, and infrastructure setup. Develop and execute operational strategy for scrap collection, sorting, processing, and inventory management while implementing quality control measures to meet steel production standards. Build and manage a high-performing operational team, develop budgets, and track performance. Ensure full compliance with safety and environmental regulations and foster relationships with suppliers, customers, and local communities. This role supports our strategic initiative to consolidate the local scrap industry and secure a reliable supply of high-quality ferrous scrap for electric arc furnaces.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in scrap yard management or a similar industrial environment
- Proven track record of success in leading and managing large-scale operations
- Strong understanding of scrap metal processing, quality control, and logistics
- Excellent knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
