Job Summary
Chief of Staff for the BLDS Executive Office at HPD, reporting to the Associate Commissioner. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, tracking, and evaluating operational, policy, and strategic planning initiatives; coordinating with Office of Development leadership and partner agencies; serving as a liaison with senior leadership across the agency; reviewing policy or legislation impacts on project pipelines and timelines; developing tracking tools, technical reports, and data analyses; maintaining cross-team communications and interagency initiatives; and representing the division in meetings. Preferred skills include multi-tasking, independent judgment, knowledge of affordable housing developments and/or capital projects, ability to read architectural drawings, familiarity with zoning and building codes, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; U.S. work authorization required and visa sponsorship not provided.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Graduate degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to read architectural drawings and familiarity with the City’s zoning and building codes
- Experience with affordable housing development and/or capital projects
- Ability to work with diverse technical specialists and exercise sound judgment in technical matters
- Authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship provided
