Job Summary
Supervise a team of technical staff to assemble mine reliability and operating requirements with geology, ground control, seismic risk management, ventilation, capital planning, and construction. Manage the mine planning schedule to generate the mine budget, execution plan, and five-year capital plan while supporting monthly deviation analysis and corrective actions. Create all 20 scale driving layouts and ensure accuracy of stopping plan estimates over a rolling 24-month horizon. Formulate budgets based on strategic direction and execute monthly operational targets. Requires a mining engineering degree, professional designation, five years in open-pit or underground mining, and competency in mineral finance and EBITDA.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in mining engineering
- Professional Engineering designation
- Minimum of five years in open-pit or underground mining as CME or related experience
- Competence in mineral finance
- Experience in EBITDA
- Experience in Free Cash Flow
- Experience in Budget Drivers
- Experience in Cutoff Policies
- Experience in Net Present Value (NPV)
- Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Understanding of performance drivers
- Understanding of constraining processes
- High level of understanding of underground mining activities including design, mining engineering, scheduling, and their interactions
- Knowledge of underground mining activities
Desired Qualifications
- Using engineering planning software such as Mine2-4D or MineCAD
