Chief Meteorologist

Chief Meteorologist leads the weather team for WATN/WLMT in the Memphis, TN market, directing strategy for weather coverage, delivering daily engaging weathercasts for on-air and digital audiences, mentoring the weather team, and coordinating severe weather coverage across television, digital, and social platforms. Responsibilities include working with the News Director to set strategic direction, supervising schedules, engaging with fans during severe weather, assisting with recruiting, developing weather content for all platforms, coordinating graphics technology enhancements, and participating in community outreach. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in meteorology, AMS Certification, a minimum of seven years of on-air experience, leadership experience, strong written and verbal communication, ability to work under pressure, knowledge of multiplatform newsgathering tools, and proficiency with social media platforms.
