Job Summary
Oversee full managerial responsibility for planning, development, and evaluation of all medical services, including Nursing, Behavioral Health, Pharmacy, and Clinic Providers. Supervise medical staff by granting leave, developing performance appraisals, resolving conduct issues, and managing credentialing processes. Formulate clinical policies and programs to improve patient care services while coordinating recruitment, retention, and relations with medical societies and tribal groups. Conduct meetings for quality assurance and business discussions, and resolve patient referral problems between internal and external facilities. Provide direct patient care, review clinical records, and participate in top-level policy decisions with the CEO. Maintain the highest standards of professional service, uphold confidentiality, and ensure compliance with AAAHC, CMS, and EEO guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of similar or related experience
- Extensive knowledge and skills in assessing, evaluating and taking measures in different and sometimes difficult situations
- A Doctorate degree
- A current medical license to practice medicine
- Must be Board Certified or eligible
- Ability to communicate, in a meaningful way, patient information program plans, policies in verbal and written form
- Basic knowledge of group dynamics and basic concepts of conflict resolution
- Knowledge of Kewa Pueblo Health Corporation policies and practices related to PRC eligibility, employee policies and commissioned officers' regulations/benefits
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement and other medical staff functions as stipulated by AAHC or CMS
- Knowledge of the customs of the Santo Domingo people and the ability to appreciate and respect cultural differences and their effect on healthcare delivery
- Knowledge about standards/regulations concerning medical staff credentialing and medical staff bylaws
- Must have CPR and/or ACLS certification
- A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers
- Incumbent may be required to workday, evening or holiday shifts
- Familiarity with the mandatory reporting requirements under the Indian Child Protection Act, with regards to suspected incidence of child abuse or child neglect
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual skills in English and the Keres native language
- Prior experience working with Indian Health Services (IHS), a Tribe or Tribal organization
