Job Summary
Provide executive clinical leadership for Inova Alexandria Hospital and two new campus development initiatives, including medical staff planning, quality and safety framework development, and regulatory preparedness. Monitor patient care delivery standards, assist department chairs in addressing issues, and oversee utilization management processes to reduce length of stay. Collaborate with Nursing and clinical departments to promote patient safety, partner with the Quality Council on continuous improvement programs, and support the medical staff in peer review and grievance arbitration. Serve as a physician spokesperson for the hospital and assist in medical staff recruitment while integrating clinical leadership into operational policy-making and capital planning.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited university
- Licensed (or capable of being licensed) in the State of Virginia
- Board Certified in an approved AMA specialty
- 10 years of experience in clinical practice of medicine in a hospital setting including experience as an officer in Medical Staff governance
- 5 years of experience in a medical staff leadership role
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Medical Management, Public Health, or a related field
- Experience leading hospital quality, patient safety, peer review, and performance improvement programs
- Demonstrated success in medical staff engagement, physician alignment, and partnership with elected medical staff leadership
- Experience supporting new hospital planning, hospital expansion, facility activation, or clinical integration efforts
