Job Summary

Lead psychiatric and medical operations as the senior executive at Apache Behavioral Health Services, delivering direct patient care while overseeing prescribers and clinical protocols. Chair the Medical Executive Committee, establish psychopharmacology and crisis standards, and ensure compliance with IHS, AHCCCS, and Tribal regulations. Supervise a multidisciplinary team, conduct clinical audits, and manage controlled substance safety. Provide telepsychiatry coverage and serve as the medical liaison to Tribal leadership and regulatory bodies. This full-time role requires an MD/DO with board certification in Psychiatry and at least seven years of clinical experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry (Child/Adolescent and/or Adult)
  • Current Arizona medical license or ability to obtain within one year
  • DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances, including MAT
  • Maintenance of certification, licensure, and continuing education requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years clinical experience in Psychiatry
  • At least 5 years in leadership roles
  • Demonstrated expertise in Crisis Psychiatry, substance use treatment, and Psychopharmacology
  • Proven track record of supervising prescribers and managing multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Experience with EHR (myEvolv or equivalent) and telehealth Psychiatry
  • Deep knowledge of federal, state, and Tribal behavioral health regulations
  • Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills
  • Leadership ability with prescribers and clinical teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; skilled in presenting to Boards, Tribal Councils, and community forums
  • Culturally competent and respectful of Tribal sovereignty and healing traditions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EHR platforms, and telehealth technologies
  • Ability to obtain Arizona medical license within one year
  • Ability to obtain DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances, including MAT

Desired Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Psychiatry (Child/Adolescent and/or Adult preferred)
  • Experience in Tribal health, IHS, or 638 contract settings
