Chief Marine Engineer (Diesel) oversees operation and maintenance of the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment marine vessels, maintains engine room logs, ensures compliance with federal and departmental regulations, and supervises technical staff in the Marine Section; requires MMC with Chief Engineer Limited endorsement for motor vessels (≥6000 HP), TWIC, medical examination, drug testing, and ongoing license maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with endorsement as Chief Engineer Limited for Motor vessels, not less than 6000 HP
- Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) within 30 days of appointment
- Must pass U.S. Coast Guard medical examination
- Drug screening and random drug testing compliance
- Licenses and TWIC must be maintained for duration of employment
