Job Summary
Provide strategic legal counsel to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors; oversee corporate governance, compliance, contracts, labor and employment matters, intellectual property, litigation, and regulatory affairs; develop and lead the organization’s legal strategy to promote and protect its interests; ensure organizational compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations; draft, review, and negotiate high-level contracts and legal documents; manage outside counsel relationships and legal budgets; lead and develop the in-house legal team; monitor changes in laws and regulations and advise leadership; support risk management and crisis response planning; maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing to practice law
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible legal experience, including executive-level experience
- Strong background in corporate law, regulatory compliance, labor law, and contract negotiations
- Exceptional judgment, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
- Experience in healthcare and/or correctional setting preferred
- Prior experience advising a board of directors or working in a highly regulated environment is preferred
- Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests
- On-call duty may be required (nights, weekends, holidays)
- Maintains security clearance for the assigned facility
