Job Summary
Lead and drive all stages of microfabricated ion trap development, including concept creation, design, layout, fabrication, packaging, and characterization; align with researchers, engineers, and external foundries to advance R&D beyond the state of the art; contribute to strategic long-range planning; collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into functional hardware; engage third parties for partnerships and co-development opportunities; leverage expertise in semiconductor/MEMS processes, ion trap design, photonics, and packaging to deliver high-performance ion traps and related components; role may offer remote work up to 2 days/week with approval.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree minimum
- 15+ years' experience in Semiconductor/MEMS process development, Ion trap design and fabrication, integrated optics of waveguides, and chip-scale photonics
- US citizen (Plymouth, MN) and U.S. Person defined as U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, asylum or refugee status
- Must not be a PRC or Russian national unless U.S. citizen
