Job Summary
Lead the cross-portfolio strategy for measuring and validating three core civic skills (engaging across differences, using credible information, collaborating to solve problems) across On Campus, In Community, and At Work initiatives. Define and steward a credible evaluation framework, pilot assessment approaches, and build an evidence base to inform decisions on scale and adoption. Represent and align external stakeholders (researchers, funders, credentialing bodies, mission-aligned organizations) to establish a widely trusted measurement model for youth civic development. Oversee external engagement, partnerships, and pathways for formally recognizing civic skill development (credentials, badges, signaling mechanisms). A PhD in a relevant field is preferred; senior-level experience in education research or evaluation is required, with a track record of defining outcomes and building credibility across diverse stakeholder groups. Salary range $210K-$225K; remote-work setup with annual in-person convenings and travel; location flexibility within the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Senior-level experience in education research, measurement, evaluation, or related field
- PhD preferred in social/behavioral sciences (as noted)
- Demonstrated ability to define and measure outcomes
- Ability to build alignment among diverse stakeholders across nonprofit/education sectors
- Strong communication skills to persuasively present evidence to institutional leaders and external partners
