Job Summary
Monitor accounts receivable, oversee business office functions, and facilitate weekly A/R meetings to ensure cash collection goals and net revenue accuracy. Improve hospital profitability by monitoring costs, payor mix, and length of stay while negotiating contract terms and preparing pro-forma analyses. Develop policies and procedures under generally accepted accounting principles to optimize cash flow and reduce operating costs. Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and detailed reports for reimbursement, tax, and audit departments. Draft annual budgets in conjunction with management, reviewing prior results to highlight future trends and align with UHS objectives. Perform other duties as assigned. This role supports Valle Vista Health System's behavioral health services in Greenwood, IN, within a Fortune 300 organization.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role in a healthcare setting
- Bachelor's degree
- Working knowledge of hospital financial operations
- Knowledge of federal and local tax regulations
- Knowledge of all business office, accounting, payroll and other administrative office operations including all processes from registration through discharge
- Skill at interpreting financial analysis and performance information
- Ability to prepare schedules and reports
- Ability to use source data and compile reports from others' schedules
- Ability to use electronic spreadsheets
- Ability to manipulate data within proprietary and acquired databases
- 2% Travel
