Job Summary
Lead the strategic, operational, and decision-making leadership of all financial functions across a multi-site government-funded nonprofit. Serve as a key advisor to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Trustees on financial matters, developing and executing long-term strategies that support organizational growth and mission impact. Oversee enterprise-wide financial planning, including annual budgets, multi-year forecasts, and capital planning, while managing 403(b) plan contributions and investment performance. Direct the end-to-end revenue cycle for New York State Medicaid Managed Care programs, ensuring accurate recognition, data integrity, and regulatory compliance with grant restrictions and reporting obligations. Establish financial policies governing cash management, banking relationships, and disbursement activities, presenting cash position analyses and risk assessments to the Board and Finance Committees. Lead the Finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence while driving modernization of financial systems and internal controls. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, coordinate annual audits, and partner with Program, Development, and Administrative teams to align funding strategies with operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Fifteen or more years of finance leadership experience within nonprofit, human services, healthcare, education or similarly complex mission-driven environments
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to travel between sites
- Master's degree or CPA
- Familiarity with New York City and New York State funding agencies and the regulatory landscape, including Article 29i and Article 31 (OCFS, DOH, OMH)
- Experience leading organizational transformation, systems implementation and/or financial process improvement initiatives
- Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated success developing high-performing teams
- Strong business judgement with the ability to drive and balance finance stewardship, compliance, risk management and organizational growth
- Demonstrated expertise in Medicaid reimbursement processes and revenue cycle management
- Experience with implementing and managing modern financial technology platforms, including ERP, procurement and expense management systems
Desired Qualifications
