Job Summary
Develop and lead the company's financial strategy to support growth plans and long-term sustainability. Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, tax, payroll, treasury, and broader finance operations. Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and provide commercial advice to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board. Manage cash flow, working capital, funding, and capital allocation while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal governance. Lead financial modelling, business cases, and investment analysis. Manage external relationships with auditors, banks, investors, and advisors. Lead, develop, and mentor the Finance Team to foster high performance and accountability. Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, reporting, and business intelligence. This hands-on CFO role reports to the COO and shapes strategic direction for RPM Hire's national traffic management equipment hire business.
Required Qualifications
- 8–10+ years' senior financial leadership experience (CFO / Finance Director level)
- Proven experience leading finance functions in multi-entity or national organisations
- CPA or CA qualification (essential)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline
- CPA or CA qualification is essential
- At least 10 years' experience in finance, including a minimum of five years in a senior financial leadership role such as CFO or Finance Director
- Proven experience leading finance functions within a national, multi-entity, or similarly complex organisation
- Strong experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, governance, financial reporting, and strategic planning
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, accounting standards, financial regulations, compliance, and risk management
- Advanced analytical, financial modelling, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero
- Strong people management and leadership capability, with a proven ability to lead, develop, mentor, motivate, and hold teams accountable
- A visible and supportive leader who leads by example, builds trust, and creates clarity, consistency, and confidence across the Finance Team
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and strengthen a positive, collaborative, and supportive workplace culture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships with executives, Board members, employees, and external stakeholders
- A values-driven, practical, and team-oriented leadership style, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Successful applicants will undergo and pass a Police Check and Pre-Medical as part of the hiring process
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Excel and Xero experience (Power BI advantageous)
- Experience in hire, construction, logistics, or similar industries highly regarded
- A relevant postgraduate qualification will be highly regarded
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is advantageous
