Job Summary
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Native American Connections (NAC) responsible for all financial strategy, stewardship, regulatory compliance, and operational performance. Lead budgeting, monthly financial statements, cash flow, accounting systems, internal controls, audits, and compliance with GAAP. Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to align financial strategy with mission-driven programs in housing and healthcare. Manage LIHTC partnership accounting, multi-source funding (HOME, AHP, ADOH, FHLB, HUD), grant management, and funding relationships; oversee the annual audit process and external reporting to the Board and funders; drive data-informed decision-making and financial planning to support sustainability and growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Financial Management
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a financial and/or operational capacity, ideally in a non-profit or mission-driven organization
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in affordable housing, real estate finance, or related fields (HUD, LIHTC, etc.)
- Proven experience at the C-suite level, preferably in a non-profit housing and healthcare setting
- Deep knowledge of non-profit financial management, including GAAP, auditing, budgeting, and grant management
- Excellent leadership, strategic, and critical thinking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex information to diverse audiences
- High integrity, credibility, and a steadfast commitment to the organization’s mission
