Job Summary

Lead the Executive Leadership Team to establish organizational priorities and develop long-term financial strategies supporting sustainability and mission impact. Oversee all accounting, budgeting, financial planning, audit, compliance, and risk management for Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless and its affiliated housing organization. Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to present financial reports, evaluate emerging risks, and maximize public and private investments. Manage cash flow, debt, and capital investments while ensuring GAAP compliance and regulatory reporting. Provide executive financial oversight for affordable housing operations and lead strategic workforce planning through financial analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible executive financial leadership
  • at least five (5) years in a senior finance leadership role within a nonprofit organization

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), Finance, or related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in nonprofit financial management, fund accounting, federal and state grants, Uniform Guidance, Single Audits, and multi-entity financial operations
  • Significant experience overseeing complex budgets, diversified funding streams, government contracts, and philanthropic revenue
  • Experience supporting affordable housing, community development, real estate finance, or permanent supportive housing programs
  • Proven experience leading strategic planning, enterprise risk management, organizational growth initiatives, and long-range financial planning
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit governance and experience presenting to Boards of Directors and Finance Committees
  • Demonstrated success building high-performing teams and fostering collaborative executive leadership
  • Experience with financial management systems, including Blackbaud Financial Edge, Yardi Breeze, Sage Intact, budgeting software, and business intelligence tools
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable strategic guidance
