Job Summary
Develop and execute the company's overall financial strategy aligned with business objectives, leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while monitoring performance to improve profitability and cash flow. Establish internal controls, oversee tax planning for acquisitions and developments, and structure financing for real estate projects. Manage relationships with banks, lenders, and investors to lead debt financing and capital raising initiatives. Direct accounting operations including the general ledger, payroll, and treasury, while leading and mentoring the finance team. Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership on strategic investments and risk management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience
- At least 5 years in a senior finance role within real estate development, construction, private equity real estate, or commercial real estate
- Extensive knowledge of Real estate taxation
- Extensive knowledge of Partnership taxation
- Extensive knowledge of Cost segregation
- Extensive knowledge of 1031 exchanges
- Extensive knowledge of Opportunity Zone investments
- Extensive knowledge of real estate investment structures
- Extensive knowledge of Development accounting
- Extensive knowledge of Construction finance
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with debt financing, banking relationships, and capital raising
- Advanced financial modeling and forecasting skills
- Experience managing audits and complex tax compliance
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- MST (Master of Taxation)
- JD/LLM in Taxation
- Multifamily, commercial, mixed-use, or residential development
- Joint venture and institutional investment structures
- Private equity real estate funds
- ERP/accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, Yardi, MRI, Viewpoint, or NetSuite
- Experience with multi-entity organizations
