Job Summary

Own the monthly close, delivering accurate GAAP financial statements within 20 days, and design robust internal controls including segregation of duties and disbursement limits. Lead the finance organization across accounting, FP&A, and revenue cycle management, establishing the path for the Controller function while managing the external audit relationship. Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and private equity sponsor to drive cost-to-serve transparency, margin analysis, and financial oversight for new market growth. Prepare the finance team to support future capital events, ensure lender covenant compliance, and provide board-level reporting. This build-and-lead role requires a hands-on accounting leader with 10+ years in healthcare, located in Columbus, Ohio, with a 2-3 day in-office presence.

Required Qualifications

  • Senior accounting leadership experience as a CFO, Controller, Chief Accounting Officer, or VP of Accounting
  • Direct ownership of the monthly close
  • Direct ownership of the external audit relationship
  • Direct ownership of the accounting team
  • 10+ years of healthcare accounting experience
  • Controllership foundation: held a Controller or Chief Accounting Officer role
  • Directly owned the close, the audit relationship, and the accounting team as CFO
  • Demonstrated experience building or rebuilding a finance function
  • Experience with controls implementation
  • Experience with close discipline
  • Experience with team development
  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement
  • Familiarity with revenue cycle management
  • Familiarity with multi-site healthcare operations
  • In-office presence of 2-3 days per week
  • Candidates within driving distance of Columbus

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior CFO title
  • CPA
  • Public accounting foundation
  • Audit experience at a national firm
  • Experience in private equity-backed or institutionally owned businesses
  • Experience with lender management

  • Exposure to financially challenging environments: turnarounds, post-diligence cleanup, or organizations in transition
  • Technically hands-on by preference: reviews the work, not just the people who do it
  • Warm, steady, and trust-building; leads with listening and earns credibility with teams quickly
  • Direct communicator with the candor to deliver difficult messages and the data to back them
  • Collaborative with operational leadership, clinical teams, and a peer CFO
  • High integrity, intellectual honesty, and sound judgment under pressure
