Job Summary
Ensure monthly financial statements are completed accurately and reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Direct revenue cycle operations to maximize collections, minimize uncompensated care, and reduce bad debt by verifying insurance on 100% of patients. Prepare corporate reports, annual capital budgets, and forecasts while supervising accounting, patient accounting, and health information management departments. Provide financial leadership to facility managers and maintain strict compliance with healthcare regulatory standards. Primarily office-based with occasional travel; extended hours required during month-end and survey periods.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive financial management experience, including at least 2 years in a healthcare or behavioral health setting
- Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement (Medicare/Medicaid), revenue cycle management, and cost reporting
- Proficiency in financial/accounting software and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Primarily office-based within the facility; may require occasional travel to corporate or regional meetings
- Ability to work extended hours during month-end/year-end close, budget season, and survey periods
Desired Qualifications
- CPA, CMA, or MBA
- Experience in acute inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health finance
- Experience with EHR/billing systems
