Job Summary
Senior Banking CFO to oversee financial operations for Sezzle Bank (in formation); responsibilities include financial reporting, liquidity/capital planning, ALM, accounting, budgeting, tax compliance, investment portfolio management, regulatory reporting (Call Reports), and regulator communications. Requires extensive experience in GAAP, regulatory compliance, and financial leadership within banking/financial services; preferred qualifications include Bachelor's (MBA/MA preferred) and CECL/investment/CECL expertise. This is a full-time, remote-role with a de novo bank in formation headquartered in Utah; compensation is market-competitive with strong benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's degree or MBA preferred
- 10–15+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience in banking or financial services
- Minimum 5+ years in a senior financial leadership role (CFO, Controller, Treasury) at a regulated financial institution
- Demonstrated expertise in GAAP financial reporting, Call Report preparation, ALM, liquidity management, and capital planning
- Strong knowledge of banking regulatory requirements, internal controls, and accounting for financial instruments
- Experience with CECL implementation, investment portfolio management, and FHLB relationships
- Familiarity with fintech-affiliated banking models and associated financial reporting complexities
