Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Job Summary
CFO will lead all financial strategy and fiscal management for a mission-driven nonprofit providing housing and integrated healthcare in Arizona. Responsibilities include developing and implementing financial strategy, budgeting, monthly financial statements, cash flow management, and internal controls; ensuring GAAP compliance, coordinating annual audits, managing LIHTC and multi-source funding (HOME, AHP, ADOH, FHLB, HUD), and partnering with senior leadership to support grant management and sustainable funding. The role reports to the President/CEO and collaborates with the Board Finance Committee to ensure financial sustainability and regulatory compliance aligned with organizational priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Financial Management (required)
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in financial and/or operational capacity (required)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in affordable housing, real estate finance, or related fields (HUD, LIHTC, etc.) (required)
- Proven experience at the C-suite level, preferably in a nonprofit housing and healthcare setting (required)
- Deep knowledge of nonprofit financial management, including GAAP, auditing, budgeting, and grant management (required)
- Excellent leadership, strategic, and critical thinking skills (required)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex information (required)
- High integrity and commitment to mission (required)
