Job Summary
Design and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high-net-worth donors and institutional partners, serving as a frontline major gift leader to secure significant philanthropic investments. Build and manage a robust major gifts pipeline while providing executive oversight for corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and foundation relations. Support the President/CEO in planning government relations strategy, monitor public policy trends, and represent GSNNJ in coalitions and advocacy initiatives. Actively engage the Board of Directors, lead relevant committees, and mentor a high-performing team. Requires 15+ years of experience, a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, and the ability to travel throughout Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, and Northern Warren counties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 15+ years of experience with fundraising, external affairs, government relations, and strategic partnerships
- Proven record of personally securing major and transformational gifts
- Demonstrated experience engaging with government entities, public funding sources, and advocacy or policy initiatives
- Strong understanding of public-sector environments and stakeholder engagement
- Exceptional executive presence, relationship-building, and communication skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance vision with hands-on execution
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing organizational growth
- Membership in GSUSA
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable automobile

- Ability to travel throughout the jurisdiction to attend meetings during the day/evening/weekend
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in nonprofit leadership or a related field
