Job Summary
Lead the executive leadership team and oversee the overall administration and operation of New Orleans RTA's transit system activities. Manage integrity in professional communications with customers, employees, and stakeholders while establishing a collaborative relationship with the Board of Commissioners. Develop and implement effective means of providing responsive public transportation to diverse communities, ensuring cost-effective service delivery across five streetcar lines, 30 bus routes, ferry routes, and paratransit services. Unify the organization around its mission to connect residents and visitors to vital services and opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's in Business Administration, Management, Transportation, or a related field, or any combination of equivalent education and experience
- ten (10) years of experience in progressively more responsible executive-level administration and management in a transit organization that would have allowed major policy development and decision-making
- superb organizational abilities
- success dealing with personnel resources
- the ability to establish working relationships with various public organizations and entities
- the ability to conceive, develop, and implement the most effective means of providing responsive public transportation to the areas served
- a knowledge of or have the ability to acquire the knowledge of laws rapidly, ordinances, and regulations governing the activities of RTA
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in multi-modal transit systems is preferred
